Sonya Derian is a bay area
artist whose interest is in exploring the invisible, intangible and mystical
worlds. Her interest is in finding the connection between the ethereal
and the concrete. Rather than relying on narrative to tell a story, she
relies on the use of color, texture, shape and depth to elicit an emotional
response from the viewer and engage a sense of freedom.
